Hi all,

Does anyone know of any compatability problems Radeon 9200 SE 128Mb graphics
cards and Windows XP (SP2)?

I ask because I'm having no end of trouble trying to run any game on my PC
since buying both of the above mentioned items. I had to buy a new hard
drive & graphics card because my previous ones had given up on me. So due
to being on a tight budget I opted for a Saphire Radeon 9200 SE 128Mb
because it seemed like a bit of a bargain and my current PC spec met the
recommended requirements.

But whenever I try to run Tiger Woods 2004, for example, I'm lucky if I can
get through the menu screens before my screen goes black and my monitor goes
into standby mode. It seems my attempts at upgrading on a budget hasn't
worked and it is pissing me off tremendously!

Any ideas out there?

Thanks in advance,

Gregg.

Pc spec;
Windows XP (SP2)
QDI Legend Advance 10E motherboard
Intel Celeron 600Mhz
256Mb RAM
Radeon 9200 SE 128Mb (AGP x2/x4)
Seagate 120Gb hard drive
Cd Rom drive
CDRW drive
GNR CT1772PF (17" monitor)

I'm not a big time gamer, but I have the 9200, (not SE), on my XP SP2 box
and it functions without issue when I play MS Links '02. Have you loaded the
latest drivers that are XP certified?

Curt.

Further observation.. How's your memory and have you defragged and cleaned
up files? Have you run Adaware SE/Spybot S & D etc etc. Also when trying
the game do a ctrl/alt/del and shut down anything else you don't need
running. Games can be pretty demanding on the chip and memory.

I have ELSA Radeon 9200 series card with 128 MB memory.
I have not really met a problem when playing games.
Only one game, it could only run to the second level, when it went to
load the third level, it quited to Windows.
