Radeon 8500 on Passive cooling

I have an ATI built RADEON 8500 (64MB AGP, DVI/TV) @ 275/550.

What are the chances of running this card without the fan switched on - but
leaving the heatsink on ?

bad chances - will be overheated. the only way - change your default
heatsink
