Hi,

I did get a compute some years ago and only thing waht I did get with it was
four cd; one recovery disc, one drivers & utility disc and two other with
Nero and Windvd...

Now I wonder if the recovery disc contains whole XP or is that just a disc
with important files and "recovery stuff"!?

The disc is 526MB, (How big is WinXP Home!?)

I have reapair my system two times but now I want to erase whole harddrive
and install a "healthy" version of XP, but the recovery disc is just for
repair or!?

I dont want to take any risk and delete everything and then the recovery
disc dont contain whole XP....

I did hear somwhere that the Recovery disc sometimes contain whole XP, is
that right or!?

Do I really have to buy I new WinXP!

please some advice!?

/mike

Hi Mike,

In general, a recovery disk will contain all of the operating system (and
that 526MB is the compressed size of the files, it's much larger when
installed). In your case, you also have a driver disk so both are likely
needed for proper operation of the system. The Recovery disk will generally
take care of any reformatting and partitioning as well, there is no need to
do that in a separate step. The best source of detailed information on the
capabilities of your disk is the supplier.
