AMD AthlonXP Thorobred 2400+ here, with an old Coolermaster HC001
all-copper HS.

But I also put in a 4.5-inch blowhole fan[1] -- not because I
overclock but because ambient sometimes runs 100 degs F.

The quietest cooler I've never heard is the Thermal Take Silent Boost.
You can't even hear it run.

I ditched my list of best buys, but someone here recommended the
Coolermaster X Dream III and I'm happy. It's reduced the noise while
keeping the cpu cool. AMD XP2000
