Quickly Renaming Pictures

I have a bunch of photos that have duplicate file names. I want to store
them in the same directory. Is there an auto-renaming function in XP? I
vaguely remember that there was. If not, any other suggestions? It's around
200 files.

Irfanview is a good free graphics program that will do batch renaming:
