Quicklaunch Bar goes away on reboot?

Doug

Every time I reboot my machine, the quicklaunch bar disappears, and I have
to reset it manually. I use XP Home on this machine (Dell Inspiron 8500).
I also haveTweakui and Iolo system mechanic on my
machine. Has anyone encountered similar problems? Is there a fix?

This setting is saved on shutdown. Up to ver 1.33 Tweakui has a setting that
prevent changes being saved. (Explorer tab Save Explorer Settings). Things
like Iolo tend to have this setting too.

If it's not this then it means a/ your registry isn't being saved
or
Explorer is crashing while attempting to shutdown.

View event Viewer to see if either of the above is happening.

I've noticed in XP if a setup program reboots the computer changes (like the
above) aren't saved from that session.

Hi Doug,

See if this helps:

Save Settings on Exit (Line 54)

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.
