I have an Asus A8V DLX and a WD Raptor SATA drive for my main hard drive.
From what I've read on the net I'll need to install the SATA drivers from a
floppy when I try to install XP for the first time. Well not only do I not
have a floppy drive but the drivers didn't come on a floppy... all I got was
a motherboard driver CD. And I looked on the CD but all I can find are
drivers for the SATA raid. Is there no way to install XP on the drive
without a floppy? (I have access to a foppy drive but no way to get the
drivers onto a disk until Monday and I was hoping to have this up and runing
today) And does anyone have any ideas what files I should be looking for on
the CD?
Sorry for the newbie questions... I've tried to find the answers on google
but I couldn't find anything specific to my motherboard and when I go to the
ASUS website the only drivers I see that say anything about SATA are these:
Promise SATA378 Driver V1.00.0.26 for Windows 98SE/NT4.0/ME/2000/XP/2003 but
they don't realy say what they're for and my gut feeling is that they're for
the Promise RAID.
