On an ASUS A8N-SLI which would give me better performance... a single 1GB
stick of ram or 2-512MB sticks? I've always thought 1 stick was better but I
haven't built a system in a while.

2x512MB (Matched pair) as socket 939 supports dual channel memory bus.
Mike.

Dual Channel benchmarks are so little over single channel as to make it
not worth worrying about.

If Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened
rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic
music.

I just got the current Maximum PC magizine in the mail yesterday, and their
is an article on memory in there and it answers this exact same question.
The artilce said modern systems run faster with two sticks of memory so get
two 512's and not one 1 gig, etc.

Mike
