Quick Launch or desktop what uses more resources?

I would say neither, they are both features of explorer which is a resource
that is running.

What uses more recourses Quicklaunch or Icons on the desktop?
Neither. They're both simply shortcuts.

The one reason I prefer the program icons on my Quick launch
is that they're One Click, whereas any icon on your desktop
is 2 clicks, unless you set your system for one-click, which
many of us find problematical.
