quick launch items cannot be clicked on...

I use the quick launch menu extensively and after rearranging some of the
items in it, I cannot execute them with the mouse. The window just
disappears when I click on it. The only links that work are the ones that
are visible in the taskbar. I can execute them with the arrow keys + Enter
however.
 
Same boat here. No solution yet (after working all after noon non-stop with
a bit of a Vista expert).
