Hi Tony,
First you need to enable 'show hidden files' in the folder options. Then
navigate to the following:
C:\documents and Settings\<your name>\application data\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Quick launch
Right click on the Show desktop icon and select create shortcut. When the
shortcut has been created drag it to the quick launch toolbar. Once in the
quicjk launch toolbar you can right click on the icon and rename it to 'show
desktop'
