Hi all,
if a cell has a drop down menu, is it possible to type a valu
into that cell if none of the selections in the menu are required. Whe
I go to type in the cell, I get an error saying that the user ha
restriced it. Cheers

Hi Shav!

Select the cell(s) in question. Goto Data>Validation.
On the Error Alert tab, uncheck Show error alert....
OK out

What is the point of having DV if you do that? A list of (some) possible
values seems of little use.

I think using a dropdown point and click serves a
tremendous use. Who wants to type when you don't have to?

Thanks for that. The purpose of being able to type in the drop-down bo
is that I'm trying to create an order form and sometimes we need to ad
extra info to what we are ordering. Without being able to write in th
cell, this is not possible. Cheers
