Quick delete of print job

when I cancel a print job in the print queue, it takes forever for it to
clear. Is there anything I can do to make this happen quicker?

No, not really, it has to flush the print buffer - takes time.

and the printer has to acknowledge. The printer might not acknowledge until
it prints whats in its buffer.

Seems like that could be done quicker. Just an update to the table keeping
track of the jobs. Surely it doesn't delete every byte of the print
stream.
