Windows XP, I open my Outlook Express in the inbox folder and i see my email
headers on the top right and the subject text in the lower right window. My
question is because i see the text of an email does that mean that the email
is already open and i could get a virus? And if that is the case, How can i
set it up to see the email header to see who it's from before i open the
email. Thanks for any help.

Yes, keep your "Preview" button turned off (toggles off
and on)(it should be at the top with your "Send" etc.
buttons) until you have weeded thru all your messages and
deleted any suspicious ones. Don't forget to turn it back
off when you're done then no messages will be open when
you go back the next time.

Ditto what the others say. But doesn't your anti-virus software have an
option to scan e-mails before their contents are exposed? I never worry
about it in my case because any e-mail has to first pass through really
good anti-spam software, and from the anti-spam program I select which
remaining e-mail will be downloaded with Outllook Express. My anti-virus
software then scans the e-mail before it is exposed in the preview pane.

Tony.
