The class libraries are mostly written in C#. The CLR mostly in C++.

Hello,

it's partly C# and partly unmanaged. And I guess, part of the
Microsoft.VisualBasic stuff is actually written in Visual Basic.

The BCL is mostly in C#. I read somewhere that 2.0 BCL has som VB.NET code
too. But the CLR components are in C++.

I have heard from somewhere that very less c++ is used.. mostly all
development is done in C#..

It doesn't cover all the .NET libraries, and the source files that are
included aren't always identical to the ones used for .NET framework.
But it's still a great resource.

For the missing pieces, get Reflector or look at the Mono open source
implementation.
