Since Norton Internet Security is taking over control of Windows Firewall
for popups and cookies(told me to turn off firewall when NIS was installed),
do I need to uncheck popup blocker in Internet Options and adjust cookie
handling in same? It seems that now both NIS and Internet Options settings
are trying to control popups and cookies?

I was having trouble signing into Messenger Live when Internet Options for
cookies and popups were left on.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Uninstall NIS and use Zone Alarm Free & perhaps AVG or Avast for
AntiVirus protection. Less expensive, Easier to control and will not
cause long-term aggravation. NIS is "Junk". Why use a product that
requires hours of "Twiddling" to adapt it to your needs.

Hi Lori,

Just to let you know if you are a newcomer to this NG, R. McCarty is *no*
crackpot. Most of us here share that same opinion. I *am* running just as
he/she suggests: ZA free edition, and AVG free edition--both for over 6
years.

It doesn't matter what you are doing. The fact of the matter is Lori
has already got Nortons and he wants a workaround for it. If there is
no workarounds then one should not comment. Why should he download
another software when he has already spent some money for the commercial
product.

To save aggravation, and to seek the ultimate path to truth!!
which is why we ask the many gurus here.

plllllllllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeethhhhhhhhhh!!!!
