Question regarding "Tracking changes" feature

I use the tracking changes feature in my Word document. When I place the
cursor on one of my inserted changes a pop up appears that contains the text
of my change plus my name, date and time of the change. Is there a setting
within Word that can disable this feature?

Sorry, no, there isn't.

You can disable certain aspects of Track Changes manually by unchecking them
under the Reviewing toolbar, then 'Show' and uncheck all of them. This would
keep recording the changes but not showing them as you go. Or change the view
to "Final". This would remove them altogether.

If all you want to disable is the popup, this seems to be the result if you
clear the check box for "ScreenTips" (Tools | Options | View), but of course
you won't get ScreenTips anywhere else, either.
