Question regarding file copying/transferring

This is the dumbest question. Is file copying considered a background service
or program regarding Processor Scheduling in Performance Options in Control
Panel? I connect into remote Computers occasionally thru Desktop
Authority(Scriptlogic) and wanted to know what would be the best setting for
copying files over a slow (10 Mbps) connection. I tried both settings, but
neither seem to work faster than the other. Also, under Memory Usage, would
it be better to select Sytem Cache over Programs. I'm unsure what type of
process is file copying being identified or used as.

It seems to me that you've answered your question when you say "neither seem
to work faster than the other". I doubt that you'll get significant
performance increases by adjusting these settings - but you might experiment
with copying a large file (and timing it) using each of the settings.

Background processes (as I understand it) are those that were designed to
take advantage of spare CPU cycles - which a copy isn't. These are tasks
that are always running and continue to run while you do your work.
