It means the message has been marked High Priority by the sender. To see a list of all the Outlook Express message list icons go to Start -> Run and enter the following in the Open box. hh.exe msoe.chm::/mail_messlist_icons.htm Or open Help in Outlook Express and enter "Outlook Express message list icons" in the Search box.
