Question on Outlook Express 6

I am running a Pent. III with Windows XP Professional. I downloaded OE 6 and
just began to use it. When I received messages, the incoming e-mails
disappear before I can read or see them. Also, when I send a message (even
though I have save outgoing messages selected in options), nothing is saved
in the sent folder. Does anyone have any idea what is going on.
 
Wrong newsgroup. This newsgroup is for Microsoft Office Outlook, not
Outlook Express; the two are distinctly different programs. There are
newsgroups specifically for OE and you'll find much better OE expertise
available in them. Having said that, under 'View|Current View' are either
"Hide read messages" or "Hide read or ignored messages" selected?
