Question on AutoArchive in Outlook 2003

Good Day,

I hope I have a simple question about AutoArchiving. We are running Outlook
2003 SP1. The AutoArchive is set for default mode so no folders were
changed.

It seems that AutoArchive is set to go off every 14 days and uses and
archives a three months worth of mail which is Ok. Someone needed to find
something and it was not in there sent item list (we are running Exchange
2003 Enterprise Server). So we looked in the Archive folder and found stuff
going back another three months to the beginning of the year. But nothing
before that so all information from 2003 seems to be gone.

Does the Archive feature delete items after a certain amount of Time?

I checked the setting and this is what I have.

Run AutoArchive every 14 days
Prompt before AutoArchive runs
During AutoArchive
Delete Expired items (e-mail folders only)
Archive or delete old items
Show Archive folder in folder list
Clean out items older then 6 months
Move old items to a folder (local user)

The permanently delete old items IS NOT check marked

Would any of these setting that are setup as is delete any mail?

Thank You
Adam Raff

no, it's likely in an older archive folder somewhere, if it wasn't deleted.

BTW - autoarchive is really not the best thing if you have an exchange
server, as old messages are less likely to get backed up when they are not
in the mailbox.
