Has anybody else had this problem?
Long story short, I downloaded from viaarena.com the via
ide ide miniport driver. If I try to uninstall the
miniport driver, XP will not boot up. I have to boot to
last known good configuration. Does anybody know how to
get rid of the miniport driver without having this
problem (please don't say reinstall XP)?

Can I ask why you would need/want to uninstall it?

Why not just download the Hyperion Drivers (4-in-1)?

Sorry, it's just been a long time since I've messed with VIA (never did care for
the chipsets myself). But I never had any problems with those 4-in-1 drivers.
They automatically install the proper one for your chipset, no guesswork needed
:)
