Thanks... the vbs script solved the problem. The first time I asked,
someone came back with a link to the kelly's korner site but it was a link to
a program that did the whole gamut of taskbar tweaks etc. but they wanted
$5.00 donation for that (not that i'm opposed to supporting developers, but
when I download their program and what I needed to check out wasn't available
in the "unregistered" version... well, you know how that is).

Someone please keep this VBS script fix in mind... somehow I feel someone
else has the same problem as me after the June Critical Updates set & WMP10
update, and for curiosity's sake, I'm going to pour over the code in that
script and see which registry line(s) I wasn't thinking about...
