Question about using MS Newsgroups

R

Ramesh

Hello!
Is there any automated method of checking if there is a reply to our own
post (question or answer). Everytime I have to scroll up and down in OE to
check if I got any replies.

Is there a better method to check this?

Yes - use a real Newsreader Program like Outlook Express which comes with
Windows XP.
see
http://www.microsoft.com/communities/guide/newsgroups.mspx

You can then put a watch on your messages and replies so that when you
return they are Red if anyone else has posted on that thread of
conversation.

You could allow your newsgroup do the search for you. Go to edit and then
find... you'll find a couple of different options listed.

If you update your OE at Windows Update, you can get a Ctl-H function
that will only show replies to your messages in the header pane. It's a
special view and you toggle it with Ctl-H. Very nice.
