I don't know if this is the right forum but I need to know which is faster
"Provides high performance and fast sustained data transfer
rates up to 480 Mbps "
or "Data transfer rates of up to 11MB/sec. read and up to 7MB/sec write "
Thanks,
Elaine

Mbps refers to Mega Bits per second while MB/s refers to Mega BYTES per
second, 8 bits = 1 byte so 480Mbps is 60MB/s btw are you looking @ hard
drives?

Instead of quoting the color glossies from what you're shopping for, how
about giving us some interface names?

Mb is megabit.
MB is megabyte.

In the PC world, one byte equals 8 bits.

Hope this helps.

so the 480 is faster.
Thanks

Well, the 480Mbps thing is a bit misleading. Thats is USB2s "potential"
maximum, but I doubt any device comes close to that. Also different chipsets
will have different speeds.

You might be better off googling on the particular drive you are interested
in and finding some performance indicators for it.
