Can you set this to the number of processors in your pc say a dual core or a
quad core processor? Someone had a video on youtube saying this would
increase boot time and I read another article saying it was bogus.

/NUMPROC is located in the boot tab under Advanced options in both XP and
Vista.

It seems to boot up alot faster on the Vista machine I have. I've read that
it should only be used for testing bad processors but was just wondering what
any Microsoft mvp's had to say.

In that case, leave well enough alone, you prevent the system from
actually using the processors you kill, thereby reducing the overall
speed of the system during real use.
