question about sharing a monitor

Does your LCD monitor already have two inputs; like one for DVI and the
other VGA analog? Using those is the simplest way.

Most LCD monitors have two inputs. Check yours.

Can I use the 2 different inputs for DVI & VGA to connect 2 different
computers and switch between them.

The computer store seemed to discourage the practice and I wasn't game
to try.
