Michael V.

I bought XP home for my old computer and then bought a
new computer.
I unistalled XP from my old computer and will probably
sell it.
Will whoever buys it be able to install it on their
computer or will it give them an error because it used to
be on my computer?

Michael;
Was Windows XP OEM or retail?
If retail, it can be transferred to another computer as long as all
components are also transferred (CD, EULA, Product Key, documentation
etc)
If Window XP is OEM, OEM is normally permanently tied to the first
computer installed and can not be transferred regardless the condition
of the original computer.

Does what you have said about OEM apply also to
reinstalling it on a new hard drive on the same machine,
or is that OK? (well, covered by reactivation scores &
rules)

Thanks for that - I'll do it when temperatures here in the
UK have gone back to seasonal norms for summer (65F and
gray) from current 95F with no air-conditioning...
Regards
Herb
