Question about formats

I guess this is about formats - I am addicted to coloring cells and rows
to catch my attention or to classify data. I dislike the default bright
yellow, and usually use red, white and blue BUT some worksheets retain
where I was last, and others lose my last point of reference on color,
when I close all. Any idea why? All sheets are originated by me.

P D,

I don't know what you mean by "lose your point of reference," unless you
mean how far down you might have gone in the sheet in formatting the cells
for color.

Here are some things that might be useful:

You can set up your own colors, replacing the dark colors with lighter
colors you like. Tools - Options - Colors. If you change, for example, the
third color in the second row, then any cells formatted to that position
will get that color. This modified color palette will be only for this
workbook -- others will get the standard palette.

Conditional formatting can automatically apply colors, though you can have
only three conditions. Macro programming can give you more.

Don't apply colors that you'll want to test later. It gets a bit messy.
