Dr.Indera

hello,

under the content folder, there are about 30 folders that take up about 145
mb of space. i was wondering if it is okay to delete all of these folders?

i'd also like to know what the index.dat file is for and whether or not it
can also be deleted.

thank you
indera

I assume you're talking about the folder called "Content.IE5", which
is a subfolder of "Temporary Internet Files". The files in there
are your own, and only you can decide if you want to retain them.
They represent your Internet history. You can manage the
retention time in Internet Explorer / Tools / Options / General /
settings.

hello,

yes, i'm talking about the files under the content.ie5 folder.

i looked on the tab you suggested and the option is set to 45 days.

if i delete all of these files, does it mean that when i type in a web site
that i have already visited, that it will not automatically fill in the rest
of it? what i'm trying to say is if, i delete the files and then type in
micro, will the drop down still open with all web sites that i've been to
before appear in the drop down list so that i can select the one i want?

thank you.
indera
