querying data to use into another file

I have a table with individual student demographic information:
gender-responses are male or female
race-responses are Caucasian, Native American, Hispanic Latino, African
American, or other.

I need to be able to get the information into a mergable format. That shows
how many males, females, and number of students with the various race codes.

Thank you for any ideas.

Hi

Considering that at least half of the world's population is either of Indian
or Chinese ansetry I think your demographics are slightly off just grouping
them as Other.

Either way.
You could use a totals query
Add the details to a query and then select the Totals Query icon then use
the group on count (just play around with the formats till you are happy with
the results)
