querying a varying amount of characters in a string

Hello. I have entered a primary and secondary name for a product and stored it in one column. The two names are connected by a hyphen. That was a mistake and I am now trying to run an update query to place the secondary name into a separate column. However, the primary products are all various lengths. Therefore, I was wondering if there is an expression of some sort to split by character. If anyone can help that'd be great. Thanks!
