Query for Canon i860/i865 Users

Hi

In considering a Canon i865 (I'm in the UK) and am wondering if it's possible to
see the ink status from the front of the printer itself. i.e. can you tell
which ink has run out from the printer alone?

I need to know this because the printer will be on a print server adaptor with
no host computer and it's unlikely that this aspect of the printer software will
operate over the network.

i865: Lift the lid, the carts come to the centre, but to really view the
level you have to remove the individual tank. As they are clear you may be
able to tell which one is the empty one visually.

Pity that didn't happen on mine - DOA and packed it back up on the first
night to send my much anticipated i865 back for replacment by Canon
Australia. Printer powered up ok, but when lifting the lid i could
install head/carts since the carrier didn't move.
