Sometihing happened to my PC, when I used Like "9" or like "10" as a criteria
in a query was always accepted as written, I just started a new dtabase and
when I attempt to use the same criteria it changes to Alike "9" or Alike "10"
it works but I am curious why this happened.

Pehaps you checked the box for:
SQL Server Compatible Syntax (ANSI 92)
under:
Tools | Options | Tables/Queries.

Or perhaps you switched to a different back end.

Yes, that's what happened. I uncheked the box and I am back to my usual
criteria selection
Thanks
