Quality Issues

I am trying to make a DVD of various products that we sell to show at a trade
show. This will be shown using a DVD player connected to a TV. When I preview
my movie using Windows Media Player the quality of the images are distorted.
Is there a way to keep the qualit good? I watched the video in the .AVI
format and the quality is still bad. Some pictures I know were taken with an
expensive camera. the pixel size of most images are 2048 x 1536 or 2560 x
1920. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
