Hi all, someone has sent me a .qpw file and I am unable to open it. From the
little research I did it appears this is a Quattro Pro Windows file and
there is a way to open it in Excel 2003? But I am unable to do this. When I
select open in Excel 2003 the only option I get is Quattro Dos. Please help!

thanks!

Ask them to save as a Lotus 1-2-3 file and re-send. Then convert the
Lotus 1-2-3 file.

any format including csv.

Yes, unfortunately later versions of Quattro Pro (from version 8 in the
late 1990s) have been buggy. Have the people sending you this file
installed all the service packs/hotfixes for Quattro Pro or WordPerfect
Office?

Getting back to the point, Excel has never and very likely will never
support the .QPW file format, so your *ONLY* options are getting these
other people to fix their copy of Quattro Pro (but that's unreliable
since it depends on Corel providing the means that would allow them to
fix it), buy and install QP/WPO yourself in order to read this file, or
have them copy and paste from Quattro Pro into some other application,
maybe WordPerfect or a high capacity text editor (so not Notepad), then
send you the WP document or text file so generated.
