qfan runs fans too slowly!!

hi, does qfan control both CPU fan speed and case fan speed?

My idle CPU is at 40 degrees when the CPU fan is on full blast. When I
turn qfan hte fans go slow and the idle CPU temp reaches 50 degrees.

I know this is hot, but that's not the issue I want to discuss here.
The issue is qfan

When I disenable it, my fans go really loud. and CPU temp goes to a
healthhy 40c. When I enable it, my CPU fan goes to 1786RPM and my
case fan to to 1480RPM. My CPU temp rises to 54 degrees degrees ,
and my CPU fan - according to si sandra - rises to 1805RPM. i'm not
very impresed with qfan! it should incrase my fan speed more. anything
i can do to incrase my fan speed more. But not to 6000RPM!?

am I using qfan wrongly?

My BIOS reports my CPU temp and MOBO(case?) temp correctly. But Si
Sandra reports my MOBO temp next to my CPU temp .And my CPU temp next
to my MOBO temp. And it says Auto Fan Control=No. I don't think this
is related though, since it appears that qfan is operating it's just
doing a terrible job.

Now is a good time to tell us which board you have, but as far as I know
only cpu-fan is controlled.

50deg is not really that hot.

I believe that you can set a divisor for Q-fan in BIOS so that you can come
closer to the speed you want. At least that's the way it works on my
a7n8x-deluxe 2.0. You cannot make it go faster as there is no way to alter
power output beyond a constant 12V as is default.

Sisoft has never shown me a correct temp or voltage for years.

Yes. My old socket A board can only control cpufan. Nice to see progression
in features. Another reason for OP to provide mobo name.

But watch out - as has previously been discussed in another thread, if
you have a 'smart' temperature-controlled cpu cooler fan it will
'fight' with Qfan. I had this problem with my A8N-SLI Premium with
Athlon 4400+ X2 using the retail AMD cooler. QFan will turn the
cooler fan completely off! You have to leave QFan off in that
situation. With the smart fan working and NO Qfan my CPU is running
around 31-40C depending on load (case temperature 23C) with a cooler
fan rpm of around 3200. ( By turning off all the case fans as a test
I have got the cooler fan rpm up to around 5500 under 100% CPU load. )
The cooler fan is very quiet at low revs.

Thanks Peter,

I have noticed that. My cpu fan will completely stop ocasionally. I have
turned QFan off and there is not that much fan noise. I can see the
temperature sensor in the fan for my 4400+.
Too many good things CAN spoil the broth !

Asus T2 pro barebones system, the mbrd is P4P8T.
I don't get any option to set a ratio when I enable qfan.

says that when over 50c, the fan speed increases. this looks about
right. my CPU does go up to 55 sometimes. never below 50 though.

Maybe I get no options to , perhaps because I don't have qfan2. this
link shows which boards have qfan1 and which qfan2. Mine doesn't
