q re posted multi-boot/partition utilities recs

Hi,
In looking over recs in this ng for such utilities, I noticed that Bert
Kinney consistently recommends Bootit NG, which seems to look OK judging
solely by its site (so points for effective marketing).

--I want to set up for Windows XP as main OS, Linux (specifically Fedora
core 6) next, Vista down the road.
--This install will be completely fresh; i.e., set up on a system (Dell)
built with Windows in mind, which came with winXP, wiped clean of all
software.
--I don't anticipate mucking with the partitions more than a couple of
times down the road, at least as far as the size of those used for the
Windows OS's.

I already own Bootmagic/Partition Magic (latest v. before Symantec
buyout, 8), the latter having failed me disasterously one time, superbly
the other 7 or so times.

Can you folks plz weigh in as to whether marginal benefits of BootIt NG,
if any, are worth more money /for my situation/ ?

For that matter, are there any others that come to mind that might offer
more than what I already own?

Many thanks for any insight.

One of the reason I and others recommend BING is do to the newsgroup support
they provide. It may not be the easiest utility to master but it works. You
will find links to BING support on the following page.

Sorry to hear that. Symantec strikes again! :(

For $34.95 it's well worth it, in my opinion.

Hi Bart and NG,
Thanks for not getting off-topic wrt my mentioning Linux. I've noticed
in these groups some pretty wacky stuff said about various OS's, and the
virility/maternal-species/oligophrenia/etc. of proponents or opponents
of one OS vs. another. Sheesh.

Sue

Sue -- Which version of Partition Magic do you recommend? (I'm unclear if
you like v8, or a version bevore 8)
