Dim mFree As Double
mFree = wkbk.Sheets(1).Application.Sum(Range("Z2:Z10"))
this does not sum, any suggestion?
 
How about:

Dim mFree As Double
mFree = Application.Sum(wkbk.Sheets(1).Range("Z2:Z10"))
