putting watermark/trademark on web photo's

Does anyone know how to add a watermark or trademark
information on photo's on the web so that when people print
them or try to use them our information will be plastered
in the middle of it so they know it's trademarked, but when
you view the pictures on the web it does not ruin looking
at the photo, or it is not noticable? Thank you for any
feedback!

Emily:

If you have Photoshop, one of the filters allows for
watermarking. If you have another graphics program, a
simple solution is to add a layer to your image and type
your company name over your image in white. Then decrease
it opacity to 10% or so to get the effect you like. Then
flatten this image and save as the watermark copy. Post
this copy to the web and you have your own "watermarked"
image.
