Purpose of directory \Scans\History\Results\Resource

Directory application data\Microsoft\Windows
Defender\Scans\History\Results\Resource fills up quickly and over time causes
performance issues on my workstations. Since the files are encrypted I
cannot determine their value. I have setup a batch file to clear this
direcrtory at startup to keep it to a manageable size. I know it is tied to
real time protection but would like to control its size through a registry
setting if possible. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.

Just another datapoint here.

On my system right now, I have just 21 files in that directory, each is 6
or 7KB and the oldest is from Sep 1, while the newest is from today, Sep 5.

The creation & modification times don't seem to match anything in
particular that I'm aware of happening on my system.
