Purple and black squares.

On my brothers computer:

Athlon 2400 @ 2.0GHz
128mb 6600GT card
Gig of PC3200 RAM

Occasionally, my brother (when on graphic intensive software) see's purple and black squares spread all over the page. What does this mean? Is it an issue with the graphics card? Dodgy drivers?

Or something else?

I was hoping if anyone had experienced similar issues before is all.

I'll update his drivers, and clean out his card and.. report back

I get that sometimes when I tab out and back on a Source engine game.

Mine works when I restart.
