publishing error- 500 T Not Understood

What is the error 500 T Not Understood and how do I get
around it or correct it?

What is the actual error message and what were you doing when it happen?

The actual error message was "500 T Not Understood" and I
was attempting to publish the web at the time (ftp)
 
You need to contact your host, as 500 error is normal a server permissions issue.

Does it work when you select "Use passive FTP"?
