Hi,

I have created a public folder task list which can be emailed.

When i email this folder, and open the entry from the task list, the entry
appears as an email object and not a task.

Is there any way we can set it so that any thing posted to this folder
converts to a a task object?

Create the message in rich-text format before you attach the task items to it.

I am actually just sending a straight email to the task list, not acutally
attaching tasks to an email

i tried in RTF format and same - appears as an email and not a task item

Make sure that the recipient addresses are also marked for rich-text format. Basically, you have to have rich-text format all the way in order to email Outlook items.
