Public folder conflict errors

Hello,

We have a public folder task system. Outlook 2003 SP3. We have such
trouble with conflict errors. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Is there 3rd party software that will eliminate this? I will hire someone
if I have to. It a problem that we've been battling for 4 years and we are
sick and tired of it.

What kind of conflict errors?
When doing what exactly? Steps to reproduce?

Person A opens task, adds something, save and close.
Person B opens task, adds something, save and close.
Person A opens task, adds something, save and close - Conflict error
occurs. It's as if Person A opened up the older cached version of the task,
and when he saved it, it conflicted with Person B's copy. We have tried
changing cached mode on and off, both produce the error.
