I am losing my mind with this synchronization problem! All I need to do is
synchronize a pst between a desktop and a wirelessly networked laptop (often
offline). Without exchange server, the best method still seems to be "copy
and paste" the pst file.
Reasons:
1. Expensive sync utilities (like Synchpst) only copy folder items. They do
not delete items, as briefcase does with files. This means I end up with a
bilaterally cluttered pst file and an ever growing task list.
2. It is far slower than copying the entire pst file (regardless of size).
I have countless subfolders and categories. I like to keep the data as neat
and trim as possible, and synchronized. Is there any way to do this? I run
IIS on xp pro (for a sharepoint site). I have no experience with exchange
server. Short of another solution, could I possibly set up exchange on this
system without a higher level of stress?
