PST files

I have moved a pst file to a cd from a laptop and am trying to import it to a
desktop. I go through the proer process of importing files. When I get to the
prompt of duplicating files or not (3 options) any one i selecst I get a
message that I am denied access to the pst file?

This is a PST file. You have no need to import it unless you prefer to lose
some data along the way.
Move it to a hard drive. Remove the read only attribute it acquired from
being on a CD.
Then open it in Outlook (File > Open...) and copy what you need from it.
