.pst file

Please can someone help me. I was made redundant last
Friday and the IT manager kindly burned my Outlook pst
folder which contained my personal email folders onto a CD
rom. I tried to open the file but I get a message saying
Windows cannot open the file and it needs to know what
created it. When I checked through the web browser link
option, it said Outlook created. I have Outlook Express
installed on my PC as well as using AOL for me emailing
service. I really urgently need access to one of my
folders and would appreciate help from anyone. Thanks.

Howdy,

My (limited) understanding is that the file can only be opened with
Outlook (not Outlook Express which is a different beast entirely
despite the similar name) and that beyond that there are certain
version issues to contend with...

I think I'd be calling friends who have Outlook.

All the best with it...

The pst can only be opened in OL, after first copying to cd and turning read
only flag off.
I would suggest you find a friend with OL, who can open it then export it to
OE.
Once in OE see here for transfering to yr pc
