Hello,
My name is SPC Luera. I am a paralegal in the US Army currently stationed in Baghdad. Along with my paralegal job i am the Information Management Officer for the JAG office at MNC-I. I have a question regarding a .PST that is telling me it is not a personal file folder. I have a robocopy script that backsup .pst files off of wrokstations in the event a laptop hard drive fails. Well I had a HD fail and now when i am trying to put the backed up .PST file in the new laptop and load it. I get the error taht it is not a "Personal File Folder" any ideas. I tried searching this forum to no luck. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

Copy it to the HDD, right-click , choose Properties and uncheck "Read

How are you trying to load the file into Outlook? Is the file on the hard
drive? See http://www.howto-outlook.com/Howto/backupandrestore.htm for some
help with restoring .PST files. If that doesn't work, the file may be
corrupt -- run the Inbox Repair tool on it (scanpst.exe) and see if it finds
and fixes any errors. Make sure you have another copy of the original file
before you let the Inbox Repair Tool change anything.

If your robocopy script makes a copy while the PST is open, then it's not
difficult to underswtand why you're seeing what you are. Moreover, once you
see this error, the PST is fairly much toast unless one of the commercial
PST recovery programs can make sense of it.
