Protecting individual cells in a sheet

Is there a way to protect individual cells in a worksheet
while allowing all others to be modified?

Hi bill
try the following
- select all cells which should be UNPROTECTED
- goto 'format - Cells - Protection' and UNcheck 'Protection' for these
cells
- protect this worksheet 8goto 'Tools - Protection')
 
Additionally if you have just a couple of cells to
protect
you can select all cells
unprotect all of them as described.
Then select just the cells you want to protect
go to the same spot on the format menu and check
protection for these cells.

You then still have to use the protect worksheet
